Argentine Tango is a beautiful and wonderful social dance that can literally change your life in ways you haven’t even thought of yet. Its a great way to meet new people, make friends, explore a side of yourself you never knew existed. Tango is a walking dance, which means that you don’t need to be an athlete to dance it, you just need to learn how to walk and to walk well. If you can walk, you can dance! In this weekly course, you will learn how to walk, how to turn, how to embrace your partners in a lovely and amazing way that is soft, light, and engaging. You will learn about the dance of tango, the music of tango, and a little bit of tango’s very rich and dynamic history.
About Miles (and yes his last name is “Tangos”) began his Tango experience in 2006 with Daniel Trenner. He fell in love with the dance, and quickly became addicted. He spent the next 2 1/2 years of his tango life taking 7 private lessons a week, from 7 different teachers, plus 10 hrs a day of practice, plus an hour nightly class, and then social dancing till 1 am every night, all while writing a daily tango blog. To say he was ‘devoted’ is an understatement!
Miles has studied with everyone he could think of and then some, traveled to teach in Europe (Malta, The Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, and Poland, and also in Buenos Aires. He has DJ’d in all of those places and then some. His primary focus is teaching from the perspective that the dance can only be understood if you learn and dance both sides of the embrace socially!
